Für den Banana Pi gibt es auch ein eigens NAS Image. Das BanaNas ist ein Raspbian Debian mit installiertem OpenMediaVault, welches als eigenständiges Image ebenfalls auf Debian basiert.
Einer der großen Vorteile vom Banana Pi gegenüber dem Raspberry Pi ist die schnelle Gb LAN Netzwerkkarte. Dazu hat der Banana Pi ein SATA Port, an dem man eine Festplatte anschließen kann.
Da es sich bei diesem System doch um ein sehr leistungsschwaches System handelt, darf man nicht zu viel erwarten. Die Tests sind jedoch überraschend gut ausgefallen, wenn man bedenkt, dass die Banana Pi Platine nur 3 Watt Strom benötigt.
Mit USB Festplatten hat das System jedoch einige Probleme. Wenn sie in den Energiesparmodus gehen, so wachen sie manchmal nicht auf. Hier muß man leider die Energiesparfunktion abschalten, damit man immer Zugriff auf die Daten hat.

Fehler Banana Pi NAS BanaNas:

  • Es Probleme, wenn man zusätzliche Module installiert. Die zusätzlichen Module sind teilweise in der Standardinstallation auf dem gleichen Port installiert und können dadurch dann nicht mehr starten.
  • Zusätzliche Module wie OwnCloud laufen extrem langsam.
  • In der Konsole wird als Benutzername admin und Passwort openmediavault angezeigt. Das Passwort ist jedoch bananas.

Fazit Banana Pi NAS BanaNas mit Open Media Vault: Man darf sich keine Wunder oder Hochleistungsserver erwarten. Die Performance ist jedoch nicht so schlecht für die kleine Platine. Es gibt viele fertige NAS Systeme die auch über eine 1000Mbit Netzwerkkarte verfügen aber die Leistung vom Banana Pi nicht erbringen. Besonders im Billigbereich sind die Leistungen der fertigen NAS Systeme sehr schlecht. Dies ist aber auch kein Wunder, wenn man sich die Preise ansieht. Teilweise bekommt man NAS Systeme zum selben Preis wie die nackte Festplatte. Hier kann dann natürlich für den Server kaum noch etwas übrig bleiben.
